Friday, January 12. 2007The joys of cancelled flights
Unfortunately our arrival in Sydney is going to be delayed by 1 day.
Due to the fog at Wellington airport our flight has been cancelled (after waiting for the fog to clear for 3 hours). We have been bumped to the same flight tomorrow morning. So we'll be getting up at an insane time tomorrow morning as well. Oh joy. The only good news is that the flight we're on already had most of the rest of the Catalyst delegation already book on it. Looks like it'll be a - rather subdued - party flight. Oh, actually no, just been told we're on the 0700 flight, the others are on the 0640 flight. karora and family who are booked with the competition might still be able to fly out today. If only we could switch airlines... See you in Sydney! Trackbacks

Nope, we're on the 7am flight. It looks like we're flying via Auckland.
Oh joy. David C & Shanna are leaving Wellington at about 10am and are flying via Auckland. Comments (2)

Looks like we might actually get out of the airport. I can now see clear across the runway, and the view from the zephyrometer is showing the top of the Mr Crawford quite clearly...

Well a 737 from Christchurch has now landed, and the one we will be on has left Auckland...

Awesome!
/me wishes we'd booked on Qantas The update as at 15:00ish is that Andrew M made it on the plane. We assume it left the airport bound in the correct direction... Comments (2)

Yep. We left this morning at 2:15am Sydney time, and we got to Randwick at around 6:15pm, so a 16 hour journey with a three hour flight.
Too late really to be able to do anything useful in Sydney, but at least we are here in time to get a good night's sleep. Comments (3)
